Seriko せりこ

A foundational early character featuring the low-energy Seriko and her tiny companion Maruchii. Beginning as a Nise-Haruna skin before becoming a full ghost, Seriko became especially influential through her animated artwork: the Ukagaka shell-animation specification took its name from her.

Technical context
Seriko first appeared as a skin for Nise-Haruna on 2000-12-20 and later developed into a complete ghost. Her animated second shell was described in contemporary coverage as the first animated ghost shell in the scene. The name SERIKO was subsequently adopted for Ukagaka's general shell-animation specification. The preserved 2004 package identifies both the ghost and shell creator as MIY.
